Recognition of Prior Learning is a process that involves the assessment of a person’s prior knowledge and learning (including formal, informal and non-formal learning) in Australia or overseas. RPL is issued by Recognised Training Organisations based on the assessment of an individual’s previous learnings that is equivalent to the learning outcomes of Australian Qualifications.
This credit reduces the number of learnings required to achieve a Nationally Recognised Qualification. May it be completed through Credit Transfer, Recognition of Prior Learning or advance standing.
The RPL Assessment must be:
- Undertaken by an Academic Staff of an RTO with the expertise in the subject content, knowledge and skill expertise.
- Must provide authentic & sufficient evidence to validate their experience.
- Should be able to recognise their knowledge regardless of how, when or where it was acquired.
Steps on How you can Complete the RPL Process:
- An initial assessment or pre-assessment would be required by our dedicated consultants.
- Identifying what documents/evidence are required to complete the process.
- Gathering the documents needed to create a portfolio for the client.
- Documents are being forwarded to our Affiliated RTOs for initial document assessment to verify the competency of the student.
- Once our Affiliated RTO have assessed the competency of the student it will be issued by the college.
The goal of RPL
- To value the skills of an individual and provide identical prospects for examining and acknowledging it, regardless of the time, location and method of getting the expertise and skills.
- To assist lifetime understanding and adaptability between and throughout the schooling method as well as the labour market place.
- Improving access to education for people who are socially disadvantaged to broaden their opportunities to acquire an education and compete in the labour marketplace, and thus help to make folks an effective useful resource for society.
